Our hotel is comprised of eight charming casita nestled among native trees and gardens on a hillside overlooking Mazunte and the Pacific Ocean in the distance.
All casitas feature air-conditioning, king-sized beds, luxurious bathrooms with rain showers and organic bath products, and views of the surrounding hilltops and trees as well as full to partial ocean views. Complimentary Wifi and daily housekeeping complete your experience.
Walk along our garden paths to find our stunning palapa and infinity pool, where you can enjoy a meal at Café María José, our bistro which features an eclectic mix of modern comfort food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Complimenting Café Maria Jose is Bar Mapache, featuring craft cocktails, creative margaritas, a curated collection of tequila and mezcal, and of course, ice cold beer, wine, and classic spritzes and cocktails.

The Costa Chica offers a variety of outdoor activities and our hosts will be happy to help you plan a perfect day exploring the area and experiencing a true Oaxacan adventure. A few options include: enjoying a sunset hike to Punta Cometa; tasting coffee in Pluma del Hidalgo; surf lesson at the world-famous breaks of Puerto Escondido or Barra de Navidad; chartering a boat to visit las Bahias de Hualtulco; or, taking a lancha with a local captain to see turtles and whales…La Costa Chica is overflowing with opportunities to enjoy the nature around you.
Our team is also happy to recommend restaurants and bars in the neighboring towns of Zipolite and San Agustinillo, as well as Mazunte, for guests who prefer to keep their adventures on the culinary side.
LOCATION / CONTACT
Mazunte is ideally located about halfway between Puerto Escondido and Huatulco, roughly an hour drive to either. Both cities offer convenient airports with domestic and international arrivals and departures. If you are driving, thanks to the opening of the long-awaited highway from Oaxaca, we are about a three-hour drive from the vibrant state capital, Oaxaca de Juarez.
Our hotel is about a 15-minute walk from the main beach of Mazunte, Playa Rinconcito. A delightful stroll down the main street, which dead ends into the beach, treats visitors to a variety of small, locally owned juice bars, coffee shops, restaurants, and bars. The laid-back fishing town of San Agustinillo is about a 25-minute walk away or a short taxi ride; the festive town of Zipolite, known for its nightlife, is a little further down the road but still accessible by a 10-15 min taxi ride.
